The University of Osaka大阪大学
The University of Osaka (UOsaka) is a comprehensive research university with 11 schools, 15 graduate schools, 23 research institutes, 4 libraries, and 2 university hospitals. Under the motto of “Live Locally, Grow Globally,” some of the most advanced research in the world is taking place here at the university. Around 24,000 students are studying at UOsaka and there are about 2,700 international students from over 100 countries and regions. Osaka Metropolitan University大阪公立大学
In April 2022, Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University have merged to form the Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU), which is the largest public university in Japan with 12 schools and colleges, 15 graduate schools in social sciences, science, engineering, medicine etc. Our goal is to be a world-class university in advanced research that is not bound by the conventional academic framework.

Otemon Gakuin University追手門学院大学
A comprehensive university of arts and sciences with approximately 9,000 students, located in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. In the 2025 academic year, the new Academic Base (university building) at Ibaraki Sojiji campus has been completed. The university operates a two-campus system, offering educational programs across 9 faculties and 3 graduate schools.
Many international students are enrolled in the Global Studies course within the Faculty of International Studies. The university offers a tuition reduction program specifically for international students.

Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT) is a private university in Osaka, Japan. It started as “Kansai Engineering Technical School” in 1922, and it gained a 4-year university status and changed its name to “Osaka Institute of Technology” in 1949. Our mission is “For the world, for the people and for the community to develop specialists with science-based practical skills who play an important role in society.”. There are 3 campuses (Omiya, Umeda, Hirakata), 4 faculties (Engineering, Robotics & Design, Information Science and Technology, Intellectual Property) with 17 undergraduate degrees and 4 master’s degrees and approximately 8,150 undergraduate and graduate students.

Osaka International University大阪国際大学
Osaka International University (OIU) was established in 1929 originally as Teikoku Women’s High School.For more than 90 years since its founding, OIU has emphasized the importance of education, our Founding Philosophy “Educating the Whole Person”, and has progressed as a university that responds to the social needs for higher education. In order to promote education internationalization, we have concluded international exchange agreements with 111 schools in 26 countries/regions (as of Feb. 2025) and provide diverse programs such as accepting International students, exchange programs, short- and long-term study abroad programs, etc. to offer even more opportunities to learn.

Osaka Shoin Women’s University大阪樟蔭女子大学
Osaka Shoin Women’s University was established in 1949 with the new university system and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2019. In April 2015, the campus renewal construction was completed, giving rise to a state-of-the-art education facility, equipped to provide an ideal learning environment in an easily accessible location. The program for our international Japanese Studies Students offers not only personalized instruction, but also considerate and meticulous support. Osaka University of Commerce is a private institute for tertiary education, and is a part of the Tanioka Gakuen Educational Foundation. Today, the University has three faculties, the Economics, the Business Administration and the Public Affairs as well as the Graduate School of Regional Policy Studies, with approximately 4,500 students enrolled altogether. Osaka Jogakuin University大阪女学院大学
Osaka Jogakuin University is a Christian-based educational community with its origins in the Wilmina Girls’ School, founded in 1884 by the missionary brothers, the Hails, in the Kawaguchi Foreign Settlement in Osaka. Setsunan University was established in 1975 and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025. Soai University相愛大学
Soai University is a private university in Osaka, Japan, with a long history since its predecessor, Soai Women's School, was founded in 1888. Soai University's motto is “To-So-Kyo-Ai.” The phrase, which is derived from Jodo Shinshu Buddhist scriptures, means learning to respect one another. We are educating students under the spirit of “To-So-Kyo-Ai.” Currently, the university has three faculties and three departments (Music, Humanities, and Food and Nutrition Management), where many international students are studying. Upon graduation, many of them contribute to Japanese society.

Momoyama Gakuin University桃山学院大学
Momoyama Gakuin University is a comprehensive university located in Izumi City in the southern part of Osaka. It consists of eight faculties and nine departments in the fields of humanities and social sciences, as well as engineering. We have approximately 8,000 students, including 300 international students. Our university provides a wide range of support for international students, including Japanese language training, career assistance, opportunities for student interaction, and scholarships. In particular, scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and cover either 100% or 50% of annual tuition fees. We also have a tuition fee waiver programme for students who experience a sudden change in their household finances. Please note that both scholarships and tuition fee waivers are subject to a selection process.
桃山学院大学は、大阪南部の和泉市に位置する、工学・人文・社会系の8学部9学科からなる総合大学です。 学生数は約8,000名で、そのうち留学生は約300名です。 本学では、日本語教育、キャリア支援、交流の機会、奨学金など、留学生への幅広い支援を行っています。特に奨学金は、学内選考により、授業料の全額または半額が支給されます。 また、家計急変者に対する授業料免除制度もあります。 奨学金および授業料免除は、いずれも選考の対象となりますので、ご了承ください。
